ClubGRANTS (formally CDSE) was introduced in 1998 by the NSW Government. It is designed to ensure that larger registered clubs contribute to the provision of front-line services to their local communities, and that the disadvantaged are better positioned to benefit from the substantial contributions made by those clubs.
The ClubGRANTS scheme allows clubs to claim a tax deduction of up to 1.5% on gaming machine revenue over $1 million for monies spent on community support. Clubs that earn over $1 million annually in gaming machine revenue provide funding for community projects and services, and in turn receive dollar-for-dollar gaming tax deductions.
Local projects have the opportunity to apply for funding from clubs in our region under this scheme. Sector Connect facilitates the ClubGRANTS funding round for Campbelltown registered clubs. We are also involved on the Wingecarribee ClubGRANTS committee as the NCOSS representative for this region.
Our primary role is to advise the clubs on local issues and needs based on local priorities set each year. We have developed strong working relationships with all the clubs and this significantly impacts on how the funding is distributed and the local priorities that are set. Your organisation may be eligible for Clubgrants funding.
The financial year for registered clubs is September - August. The funding round opens February / March each year with a presentation to successful projects in mid August.
