Invitation to NCOSS-affiliated Western Sydney Community Service Agencies to the

Forum of Non-Government Agencies (FONGA)

Date: Friday 7th June

Time: 10:00am-12:30pm

Location: Nirimba Room, Level 5, Blacktown City Council, 62 Flushcombe Rd, Blacktown.

The NSW Forum of Non-Government Agencies (FONGA) is convened by the NSW Council of Social Service (NCOSS). It promotes information exchange and collaboration between NGOs, as well as between the sector and Government. It provides a collective voice and advice to Government and other stakeholders on key issues or developments. Membership is open to NCOSS Organisational Members .

This meeting will focus on cost of living initiatives, the review of the Human Services Agreement and public transport fares. We will hear from Service NSW on their approach to assisting families and households with cost of living expenses, in particular how they engage with CALD communities. There will also be an update on the review of the Human Services Agreement (which is the new contract that all FACs funded organisations will transition to) and the pilot of location-based reporting for NGOs (which is a requirement of the NSW Procurement Board).

It will also be an opportunity for NGOs to provide advice on the impacts of any public transport fare increases for Western Sydney residents and low income households, to inform the NCOSS submission to IPART on Opal fares from 2020 onwards.

Tea/coffee will be available on arrival and lunch at conclusion of the meeting, courtesy of Blacktown City Council in partnership with a local social enterprise.

Please RSVP by COB Friday 31 May to with `June FONGA’ in the subject line so attendee numbers can be provided to the caterers.

Transport/parking The Council building is a 5 minute walk from Blacktown Station. Parking in the Blacktown CBD is something of a challenge as the Westfield Shopping Complex has recently closed about half of its carpark to remediate concrete cancer. People arriving by car should allow at least 15 extra minutes to find a park and get to the meeting venue.
