TRAINING PROJECT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Purpose

The Training Project for Sector Connect Inc was established in July 2002 for three years, through a grant from Planning NSW through the Macarthur Area Assistance Scheme. The Training Project has continued without funding through the development of strong partnerships with various organisations.

Sector Connect is committed to provide ongoing, relevant, accessible training and professional development within the Macarthur - Wingecarribee region for non-profit community-based workers, volunteers and management committee members. Sector Connect will continue to provide affordable training for all four local Government areas - Camden, Campbelltown, and Wollondilly & Wingecarribee.

How to access the training

  1. Register for training by:
    Completing the registration slips attached to flyers and fax to Sector Connect on 4648 5944, or email.
  2. Upon receipt of payment confirmation emails will be forwarded to participants
  3. Please note no receipts will be issued unless requested.

 

Fees

Fees for each training session will vary and will be dependent upon costs incurred with running the session. Fees will be kept at a minimum. Fees for each training session will be advertised on the Training Calendar as well as advertising flyers. Please note that non members of Sector Connect will be charge 25% extra to attend training provided by Sector Connect Inc.

 

Waiting Lists

Where a workshop is fully booked, any further requests will be placed upon a waiting list. Wherever possible a future workshop will be planned to cater for those on waiting lists.

 

Attendance

  • Participants are asked to arrive at the training at the correct time to avoid disruption to the training.
  • Registered participants are asked to notify the Training Co-ordinator in advance if they cannot attend training.
  • All places registered are transferable between staff and volunteers from within the registered service though advanced notice must be given to Sector Connect if this is to occur
  • All training participants will obtain a Certificate of Attendance after completion of the training.
  • Accredited courses will receive relevant certification from the relevant training organisation.
  • Certificates will not be issued to non-attendees of training.

 

Cancellations

  • A course may be cancelled where there is insufficient registration numbers.
  • A course may be cancelled where a trainer is not able to present the training on the day.

 

Payment / Refunds

  • Payment in advance is required to confirm bookings
  • Cheques or money orders are to be made payable to Sector Connect Inc
  • Non Members of Sector Connect Inc will incur a 25% extra cost to attend training, so it is of great benefit to become a member of Sector Connect Inc.

Refunds will only be made after registration where:

  • A paid course is cancelled by the Training Project
  • A notice of cancellation from the registering service is made 7 days prior to the training date.

 

Complaints and Feedback

The Training Project welcomes complaints and feedback.

All complaints and feedback can be directed to Sector Connect Administration Officer in the first instance and can be contacted on 4648 5933 or info@sectorconnect.org.au Feedback can also be given through the training evaluations issued at each training session.

 

Training Project User Rights & Responsibilities

All users of the Training Project have the right to:

  • Be informed of changes or cancellations as to the availability of the scheduled training
  • Be offered training that is of a high quality and affordability
  • Request training and / or refuse training.

All registered participants are responsible for:

  • Attending training
  • Notifying the Training Project of non attendance at training
  • Payment of fees where applicable

 

If you are registered and fail to attend any free training without seven days notice then the following will apply:

  • For full day free training you will be charged $25.00 to cover administration and catering costs
  • For “Training on the Run" sessions you will be charged $5.00.

 

Training Project's Rights & Responsibilities

Sector Connect Inc reserves the right to:

  • Cancel, reschedule or make a considered judgement as to the types of training sessions it can offer when:
    • Registration numbers are inadequate
    • Change of venue for increased / decreased number of registrations
    • Reponses to training needs surveys are low
    • Unforeseen circumstances result in the facilitator being unavailable.

 

Sector Connect Inc is responsible for the delivery of training that is:

  • Reliable
  • Relevant
  • Safe and professional

 

Trainers

Trainers with Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment Certificates or higher Education & Training qualifications and or experienced in their field of work will deliver the scheduled training.

Sector Connect Inc will not be held responsible or liable for any actions, damage or negligence that may result from any persons attending training provided or organised by the project. All participants are responsible for making their own informed choices and judgements following training, and should seek legal or expert advice on matters that require clarification before taking any action.
