Do you know any young women who could benefit from attending a workshop with professionals who will provide communication and interview coaching?

Have you heard of Dress for Success Sydney? 

Dress for Success Sydney is a registered charity and our mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence. We improve the employability of women in need in NSW by providing free of charge professional clothing, a network of support and the career development tools to help women achieve self sufficiency.

Dress for Success Sydney offers free clothing, styling and presentation skills to women wanting to enter or return to the workforce or needing good clothes to present themselves well at an important life event.

Showroom Styling – We offer a one-hour styling service for women who require clothing for job interviews, court sessions, special occasions and employment. This also might be relevant to the young women you are supporting who simply need a boost. The donated clothes are of a high quality and many still have their tags on. We can also support with casual clothing and the young women will leave with at least one complete outfit including accessories, makeup & (if required) new underwear. The young woman is paired with one of our fabulous volunteer stylists who will take into account their personal taste, and ensure the young woman walks out comfortable and confident. You can book the young women you are working with in to our Marrickville showroom by calling 1800 773 456 and we only need their name, contact phone number and email if they have one. We dress women Tuesday - Saturday and currently have appointments as soon as tomorrow.

Pack and Send – For those young women who are unable to get to our Marrickville showroom, we also offer a Pack & Send service. We are able to assist young women by providing free, hand-picked, quality outfits that will be sent directly to you for distribution to the client. Although this is typically for women living in regional and rural NSW, I do understand that some young women have personal barriers they have to overcome, and may not always be able to visit us in person. Therefore, we are happy to distribute clothes to your client via this method. Garage Sales - For anyone in Sydney - DFSS host a Garage Sale the first Saturday of each month 10 am - 11:30 am at 132 Marrickville Rd, Marrickville. Shoppers can fill a medium sized garbage bag for $5 and a large one for $10! 

We also run workshops that support women of all ages with the interview process, communication, feeling confident in interviews and at work and provide resume support.

Private Workshops – You can book private group Youth workshops for groups of up to 10 young women (minimum of 4 young women). The group will attend a Get Smart Workshop which will prepare young women to present suitably for an interview and the workplace and demonstrate how suitable presentation can help them to achieve their career goals. The second part of the Workshop involves the participants attending a styling session for one hour. This includes being allocated their own stylist to assist in finding an appropriate interview outfit. Free Online Workshops (great for those not in Sydney) - Another way women can build employability skills and confidence to find and keep a job. Topics Include: Discover your future; Creating a better cover letter; Planning your journey; Online professional presence; Building your networks; Interview preparation. Career Workshops – Our Wednesday Career Workshops provide work and life skills to women seeking to enter or re-enter the workforce. See the flyer attached 06 07 June/July Career Workshops. Supported by industry experts and Dress for Success volunteers, we deliver work appropriate workshops for our clients to gain the skills they need to secure and maintain employment. We run Mock Interviews with recruitment experts for our clients after every Wednesday Workshop to assist and increase interview success. The individuals receive valuable feedback and practice in interviewing styles. There are a series of 10 workshops we run every 2 months including Communication techniques, Makeup for Interviews (attendees get to keep the makeup!), and Being Resilient in the Job Market. 

Job Support Group – On the first Monday of every month, we offer a job support group for women. The aim is to support our clients who require further help in their job search by providing more specific life skills to assist with breaking down barriers created by a loss of confidence.
