Putting Regional Needs on the Map - Register Now!

Thursday 24 October

Regional communities across NSW are facing widening inequality, an affordable housing crisis, growing work insecurity and climate change.

These issues are manifesting themselves in several ways including increased social isolation, unemployment, mental health issues and suicide.

Together with a broad coalition of voices, NCOSS will be putting regional needs on the map, and we want you to join us at this important breakfast event:

When: Thursday 24 October

Time: 7.30am to 10.00am

Where: Strangers Room, Parliament House - Macquarie St, Sydney

Hear from Gabrielle Chan, author of ‘Rusted Off: Why Country Australia is fed Up’ and a panel of experts from regional NSW as they discuss the impacts of neglect and the solutions that could turn things around.

Panellists include:

  1. Lilliane Brady, Mayor of Cobar
  2. Danica Leys, CEO of Country Women's Association NSW
  3. Mary Ronayne, Wilcannia Women's Safe House
  4. Cr Linda Scott, President of Local Government NSW

We will also be launching our ‘Mapping Economic Disadvantage in NSW’ report undertaken in conjunction with the National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM).
