The 2017 Volunteer of the Year Awards are in full swing and I am enjoying travelling the state and meeting some of the many wonderful volunteers who have been nominated by grateful organisations, friends and colleagues. This is the 11th year the Awards have been held and I am pleased to share with you that we have received a record number of nominations - almost 110,000 volunteers will be recognised at one of the 20 regional ceremonies between now and the end of September. It is always humbling to meet the individuals and team members who give their time to an incredibly diverse range of causes. This year the volunteers range in age from teenagers to 90+, they help people in prison, befriend people in remote communities, work with people on the brink of suicide or enrich our cultural institutions by helping to provide a better visitor service. Volunteers are everywhere and their impact is felt at every level of our community. While the Awards are keeping us busy, the regular work of The Centre continues and you will find information about our training courses and networking events in this newsletter.
Due to COVID-19, we will be minimising our contact with the office and therefore are unlikely to be available to take your call. Please leave a message on 02 4648 5933 or email email@example.com
